Missouri S&T is proud to announce that Dr. Rui Bo, associate professor of electrical and computer engineering, has been appointed as a Kummer Impact Professor. This prestigious position, which spans five years, recognizes faculty members for their outstanding contributions to research and their role in enhancing S&T’s national reputation.

Dr. Bo, who joined Missouri S&T in 2017, earned his Ph.D. from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, in 2009. Before transitioning into academia, he worked as a principal engineer and project manager for the Midcontinent Independent Transmission System Operator, one of the world’s largest energy market operators. His research focuses on power grid analysis, and he is widely respected for his work in enhancing the economic operation and resilience of electricity supply systems.

As a Kummer Impact Professor, Dr. Bo will lead large, interdisciplinary research initiatives that align with the strategic goals of the Kummer Institute and Missouri S&T. He is passionate about driving innovation in energy systems and is committed to mentoring the next generation of researchers.
